Wat Tawet (วัดเตว็ด) (unknown age)
Wat Tawet is a small monastery located about 575 meters southeast of Wat Phutthaisawan. The author found it by chance, as there is no signpost posted on site. To access it, one must travel along the main east-west road (route 3469) about 700 meters east from the T-shape intersection south of Wat Phutthaisawan (starting point: 14.337084 N, 100.557634 E). Then, turn right at the intersection leading over a small canal (location: 14.340506 N, 100.562560 E). If you travel south along the edge of the canal about 380 meters the site may be visible along the right side of the road (at 14.337517 E, 100.563739 N), about 100 meters into the trees.
According to the excellent website "Ayutthaya Historical Architecture" (see link below), the name of the temple means The Monastery of the Guardian Spirit. Although the site is heavily damaged by flooding and the removal of bricks prior to its designation as a protected site, the temple is architecturally significant as it retains traces of stucco decoration on the south pediment. The design appears to show a stylized depiction of the gable end of a viharn or ubosot with looping floral motifs spewing erupting from the bargeboards. The side aisles of the building depicted on the facade are infilled with a cross-hatch decorative pattern. The overall design is roughly symmetrical, so it is possible to imagine how the ensemble looked in its original condition by comparing areas that survive on each side of the facade.

ไทย: วัดเตว็ด ตั้งอยู่นอกเกาะเมืองในพื้นที่ทางตอนใต้ของ
อยุธยา ในตำบลสำเภาล่ม อยู่บนฝั่งตะวันตกของคลองคูจามในระหว่างวัดน้อยหน่าและวัดตะมะ และเกือบจะตรงข้ามกับวัดท่าหอย พบเพียงซากปรักหักพัง กองอิฐปกคลุมไปด้วยพันธุ์พืช มีเพียงผนังด้านหน้าของโครงสร้างโบราณสถาน ลวดลายปูนปั้นตกแต่งบนหน้าจั่วยังคงมองเห็นได้ รูปแบบคล้ายๆผสมรูปแบบทางยุโรป โดยรอบบริเวณล้อมรอบด้วยคูน้ำ พบชิ้นส่วนพระพุทธ กระจายทั่วไป และชิ้นส่วนเครื่องถ้วยจำนวนหนึ่ง
