Prei Prasat Temple Temple (late 12th, early 13th century)
This small Buddhist sanctuary was built during the reign of Jayavarman VII. It comprises a cruciform sanctuary facing east, along with a small library (now completely ruined) in the southeast courtyard, along with an east-facing gopura which served as the entrance to inner enclosure. The scale and layout of the temple is quite similar to Krol Ko and Prasat Prei, both of which were constructed in the same era.
The sanctuary at Prasat Prei is in an excellent state of preservation apart from the Buddha images which were defaced in the 13th century by Hindu reactionaries, and the Lokeshvara bas-relief on the front pediment which was recently looted for its head. A number of beautiful devata bas-reliefs may be seen on all sides of the sanctuary, as well as on the corners of the tower.
The temple is nowadays also known as Chan Ta Uon, and appears as such on many maps.

The approximate location of the site is 13.460229' N, 103.841179' E (WGS 84 map datum).
